Hi Everyone,

Here's my two cents on the inserts. Some of this has been said already so that
might be all it's worth.

I think it's totally impossible to believe these are original. If you compare
any of the titles to a bonafide original they look very phony. Ask anyone who
sells them if they'd give you ten bucks for one and I'm certain they'd say
"no". There are ridiculously huge quantities out there on a few isolated good
titles and "ethically challenged" was one of the nicer things that has been
said about the dealers initially hawking them. Sounds like a slam dunk to me.

It's very important that Bruce and others brought this up again and continue to
speak out about it. It's a good way to prevent it from happening again. Hats
off.

Take care,
Joe Burtis

what about simply tracing what dealers made the purported IInsert reprints and
during what years??

as for art cropped and all.. thats a great point, and as for most of this
insert myth

ask any dealer who sells posters,, back in the 80s we couldnt give them away as
the same for 1/2 sheets and 30 x 40s and 40 x 60s..

we couldnt display them, and we had big issues with 3 sheets and six sheets,,,

so it just seems petty to be picking inserts as a issue as it appears the repos
at issue are so good they fool even the best,,

The entire Movie poster market seems soft except on the very best blue chip
pre70s and most 30s-40 50s

so to pick some inserts in the 80s seems trivial,,, and also down to it apears
maybe 20 or so titles..

dealer bashing is not kind why not dealer education, I like Ed and Sue pooles
approach of looking

at all the data before casting doubts and hurting fellow dealers Otherwise the
entire exchange is a he said she said with no facts and evidence.
without affidavidts from printers and the Movie studios how can tis myth ever
 end the hearsay?

the jury is not in yet on the Insert caper.
