since you knew I was on this List and my opinion... why would I in 30
years of business offer one poster in a lot of 3 that brought 51.00
and had a hole and tear in it.. if I believed it was not authentic?
I have sold 100s of 1000s of posters,,, and since 1977... wheni 1st
bought Bladerunner in 82 i sold them 1-sheet size $9.50 paid 3.50
The inserts in that Group on ebay were taken from a 300-400 piece lot I
have,,A mopoer had requested
a werewolfe in London I think Mark Davis from Canada. I sent pix on my
move here.. note the posters are in Bags and boards so the pix are not
sharp as the plastic reflects...
as far as the liniage on these I bought the inserts from a Local theatre
and im sure had some mixed in from years of selling.. I also have like
1000 folded posters same deal from buying and selling..
let me point out I also sell repros and have since 1977 starting with
portal... actually i have a Bladerunner 1 sheet that was done in Germany
by I think Close up or by Film freak in netherlands,, Most of the reprints
seem to Come from Germany and UK. the distributers in USA are people
like Paul Sommers in Lees summit M. USA who wholsale and sels on ebay,
and Poster warehouse Randy Pohling know on ebay as ' Bradburied" these
guys along with UK distributers sell tons of originals and repos and
all your poster dealers buy from sources like these
Morrie Everett knows Randy.-. Collectors warehouse had piles of poster
waist deep and I saw the Inserts and lobbies and all as I would go there
to buy. in Cleveland also he had sorces at the printers at continental
litho!. this was in 80s.. so when National screen services closed the
warehouse they DUMPED new unused Poster by the 1000s.... so Randy and
Paul paid the dump to go in and retrive truckfulls... as to why the
better titles.???? well because what would you grab ???? I would take
as many bladerunners.... as far as variation.... many posters have had
that like streets of Fire and others... studios in 80s wasted tons of
money on posters,, Randy also bought warner brothers failed attempt to
sell by catalog one sheets and also Jeff kiliians posters like signed
drews.. I have the stle d repro start wars that drew did and Kilian
lisenced from Lucasfilm i have like 50 availible.. I saw and also I
worked as a Poste wildposter9 guys that hang up 1shhets in big citys) I
was Detroit!
they waould send me tri corner Boxes of 300 ( like 10 boxes airfrieght)
studios are NUTS with money which weigh a TON and i did cannon films and
many others Like i did missing in action-Norris- Iraon eagle cant
remember what year,,, But i did Detroit
posting on walls the fact is the La company is owed partially by BOB
Dylan..... anyway,,,,
also when i did video poster which was from the largest USA distributer
we would get 600-100 of a title..
I had 100,000 posters when i finally sold them off... they filled 13
pallets 5 foot deep... Bruce knows this as he was a prospective
buyer..... Point is there was i 80s a glut of Posters out there all over
the place as many people that worked in the industry would scarf them
up... we all buy from industry connections if Your a dealers... fact is
now that studios do there own,,, they even sell direct if you want to
BUY lots... thats why when a good pic shows up now the studiod sell but
posters dont have legs anymore... and as a hobby,,, its become stuff
like these Mysth and lies... spread to not help collectors or dealers
but to confuse them and to tattempt to disqualify dealers and cast
asprsions..
Personally Helmut you could have emailed me direct or called me as Im
always on this List and as You have seen have defended that there was a
insert find.. however have also sated there are reprints and that its
now possible to make reprints,, that rival originals..
If in the slightest possible way I was myself duped by who sold me the
poster wouldnt the gentlemanly thing and Proffessional thing been to
bring to my attention on the list or ask seller a question?
why wait and allow the listgroup to struggle again and have a public
outcry when n one has been able to do more than offer opinions? ED
and Sue have taken a fair approach by looking at the facts first which
is what we all should do... my testimony is that there may be some
titles repoed... however there was a find at the dump in 80s of tons of
used titles.. and many where of films that would never sell..
Marty Lifshultz of Movie gellery in east meadow NY also have TONs of
inserts and 1sheets ,,,
so did veto statstibnatis in Chicago.... some of my suppliers Died..
like Richard dnolvich in Boston... he was a big supplier and John Caruso
in Denver... all old school... theres plenty More
Im sure Jerry Ohlinger woyuld know. and maybe Rich....... I guess you
had to be there...:)
well thats the truth as i see it... I wish you would have contacted me
direstly instead of impliing that
any manner of wrongdoing was attempted. with intent or by accident . I
would have gladly told you the facts to the best of my recollection.
Ill have these inserts for sale and the one sheets if anyone wants to
buy in lots.
or i hope to get more up after im moved ..
kindest regards, Tom Martin Hollywood Dream factory® 419-662-5584.!

I started this recent round of discussion, and I must admit, I'm quite
pleased to see, that almost everybody on the list is in agreement on
this matter.
I have withheld this info so far, but it actually was this auction
that made me start the discussion:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150124464834
As you will see in the bid history, I bid on this lot myself.
While I have never bought from this seller, I assumed he could be
trusted, and I didn't inspect the poster as closely as I should have.
Several hours before the auctions ended, I received a warning from a
friend who had seen my bid, that the Blade Runner was actually one of
the cropped versions we all agree are fake.
At that point, it was too late to withdraw my bid, and since I was
then outbid anyway, I left it at that.
Now, during this discussion, it it the very same dealer STILL arguing
they COULD be real...
I don't like to step on anybody's toes, but I personally feel that
these inserts are still doing a lot of damage to the hobby, and every
new collector who ends up with one of these, may well be a collector
lost to the hobby.
