I started this recent round of discussion, and I must admit, I'm
quite pleased to see, that almost everybody on the list is in
agreement on this matter.
I have withheld this info so far, but it actually was this auction
that made me start the discussion:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150124464834
As you will see in the bid history, I bid on this lot myself.
While I have never bought from this seller, I assumed he could be
trusted, and I didn't inspect the poster as closely as I should have.
Several hours before the auctions ended, I received a warning from a
friend who had seen my bid, that the Blade Runner was actually one of
the cropped versions we all agree are fake.
At that point, it was too late to withdraw my bid, and since I was
then outbid anyway, I left it at that.
Now, during this discussion, it it the very same dealer STILL arguing
they COULD be real...
I don't like to step on anybody's toes, but I personally feel that
these inserts are still doing a lot of damage to the hobby, and every
new collector who ends up with one of these, may well be a collector
lost to the hobby.
