Very personal.
Heston, well, I don't think his later politics sums up the whole man.
In his younger years he marched with Martin Luther King.
Besides, as far as being able to watch him, "from my cold, dead hands"
doesn't exactly jar with his screen persona, The Omega Man, Planet of
the Apes etc.
Mel Gibson, I'm happy to boycott, I just don't want to watch him, and I
don't think I'll be missing that much.
(Unless he gets cast as say a bald, bigoted cop then I might be
persuaded.)
Polanski, I can still enjoy his films regardless of his past behaviour.
Maybe I can forgive him because of is childhood in the Krakow ghetto,
or maybe I just feel in his case it's worth overlooking.
Travolta, Cruise, they spook me, but generally I just don't
particularly like watching them anyway.
Have a Bob le Flambeur poster I need to get backed and on the wall.
So there's a big head shot of Roger Duchesse, supposed Nazi
collaborator, and in that case it's irrelevant to me.
Cheers,
Rich
