found it listed on antiQbooks.com for 245.00 by Hyde brothers books.
So my 75.00 is a steal.
and i was correct... Just typed what was written in the pages thats all..
the other bookseller seem to descibe as same as i did.. and they are
just booksellers. So you would think they would know better eh??
anyone into Chaney or this would already know that the film was later
anyway. right?
Unless Im selling prequels. here...
But Thanks Rich Im glad you could bring some expertise to the issue and
perhaps someone need the book.

the Phantom book is from 1925 as photoplay editions (which I have
collected for 30+ years) are published to coincide with the release of
the film
sometimes you see a donkey like this:
"1898 Edition of Dracula with pictures from the 1931 film.. This
edition of the 1898 printing is rare"
deal in what you know.. leave the rest to the other guys.. like me

well n th opening page it has a pictuture with Chaney in it as the

so perhaps this is why 7 -10 year ago this book was listed as worth
400.00 on ab bookman
or maybe the illustrtor... I have forgot buy surely its worth 75.00
to someone//
I would guess its 1925 -27 as ive had loads of pphotoplay books and
it looks like the rest..
I also have a clara Bow wings ill be selling. that was 28 when it won

tom,
how can this copy of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA be from 1911? the film
was released in 1925, so the fact that there are studio stills in
this book means that this had to have been published sometime after
1925.
so unless the publisher took copies printed in 1911 and added photos
and that front page which states that there are illustrations from
Andre Castaigne as well as Universal stills..it doesnt make a bit of
sense to me...
can you clarify?
thanks.
