12 hours *IS* by plane! There is a big disadvantage to living in the middle
of nowhere. I have to drive 4 hours to the airport, and I need to allow
around an hour for a gas stop and lunch, and the airport is always mobbed,
so I am smart to arrive 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours early.

Then the plane is an hour and a half, but it is usually at least half an
hour late (often an hour to two hours, since I take off from a hub airport),
and then I have the 1/2 hour to 45 minute shuttle ride to the hotel.

By the time the smoke clears, it is usually 11 to 12 hours from when I walk
out of my house to when I step into my hotel room.

And that's why I am on the fence about going!
