that is funny and so true...

I watched the autograph industry go ballistic as the internet arrived.. up to that point It was the traveling dealers that seemed to hawk the " sharpie" maker signed pix that wehere from the purported 50s and 60s..

however remember that the litho autographs were even around in the 20s.. as many of the studios sent them out... If you take a jewlers loop and look closed you will see the Litho half toned dots.. that make up a Print vs. a photo silver gelitin print. Also I would look for the age of the Ink, whether its indented into the paper whether that variations in Ink flow and pressure as the cartridge pens and ball point were dofferant eras and differant textures... also i would listen to the story of provenance and if it had a stamped by postal envelope that spoke volumes to me as far as authenticity.. I used the sanders price guide and the Christianson book that showed facsimiles of know autographs.. On newer autographs is hard as the sharpies are the standard.. so whats good is if the in -person sigs get a snapshot getting the Pic//

Personally I like documents and letters as they are sometimes better to have as they also give a glimpse
of the subjects life or carreer.

revently the Gov of Calif sent me a signed Pic holding a clapper I made for the borders govenors conferance I made 400 clappers for him... so when they offered to send me a signed pic.. I was very honored.. It came in a envelope from the Sarementos Govenor office and also was in a Gold Hot stamped presentation envelope and had a 8x10 color pic of Gove Arnold Swartzennegger - signed ( in sharpie of course) and was for me a really cool experiance since his order helped pay several house paymenst and I had just bought the House in Aug and his order was Sept..... so that was a very symbolic jesture
coming from such a person that overcame many hurdles in Life...

so My Friend Greg Douglass....( two s Greg ) just be happy they didnt bootleg your creativity
and guitar style...:)
You are on vinyl FOREVER dude.. and they cannot take that away.......ever,,,, ever great great grandkids will hear your tunes... maybe they will spell...your name Douglas..maybe they will call you Donna Douglas and think you were part of the beverly Hillbilliys - It could happen!

Just remember... dont let your meat loaf.. !.

thanks, Tom

I had a unique opportunity to bust a seller on Ebay regarding an autograph. The item in question was a copy of the "Steve Miller Band's Greatest Hits" vinyl album purportedly autographed by all the members of the Miller band listed on the album credits in 1979. I was in the band at the time, and would have been present at the signing; my supposed signature was on the album cover. It wasn't even a close match to my autograph, AND the idiot SPELLED MY NAME WRONG!!! (it had one "S" on "Douglass"!!!!). It was a great feeling to contact the seller and call him on his B.S. (I felt like Woody Allen producing Marshall McLuhan out of nowhere in "Annie Hall" to prove a point to some jackass.) The guy denied everything, of course, and accused ME of being delusional. As far as I know, he's still out there, signing my name, (and anyone else's that he feels like signing) and selling 'em by the bushel to unsuspecting suckers, (along with a C.O.A., of course!) You'd be safer off buying crack in a dark alley in Watts than purchasing an autograph on Ebay.

if you look at it, the three signatures are all on the same plane so to speak, and the t's are the same. Looks like they were signed at the same time, without the poster being moved. And several of the signatures "look alike" meaning they appear to be in the same handwriting. Look for similar letters, like the t, the sweeps at the end of a signature, I've studied only one persons signature, (disney) but when you know what to compare to look for in an original, it can be applied to others. Disney for example had items signed by several studio artists and each had little differences. The "tail" to a persons signature tells alot about the person.

one other thing i just noticed about this listing...

look what sub-category it is listed under, in the POSTERS section: he has it listed under the REPRODUCTIONS section. if this is legit, it should be in the "Originals" sub-section, wouldn't you agree?

Yeah, and he has two buyers in his feedback of two other allegedly Ledger autographs on DARK KNIGHT posters that they paid $765 and $660!

Yikes.

He had the auction going earlier and ended it early. In the earlier auction he showed more close-ups of the autographs. I am suspicious of his Michael Caine autograph due to the dotted "i" in Caine.

another thing...

look at the bid history on this poster.... both people that have bid so far, have a "0" feedback score... something seems off.

DIdn’t this poster only come out a couple of days before his death? Would someone really have been able to obtain all 9 of these signatures?
Seems kinda improbable (won’t even touch the multiple copies he has).
