I have no dog in this race, but I think I can easily address one small part of this. I, and I am sure many others, have seen some of the sky-high results at Profiles in History (last year and others) and have wondered if all of those sales were consummated, and if so, if it was at the listed prices.
Given that you were a known consignor of some of those pieces that had reported sky-high results, can you confirm for us that in all cases you received those amounts (less their commissions)? And if so, I think the question on everyone's lips is, why would you then consign anywhere else? And if not, I think the question on everyone's lips is, why don't they set the record straight and reveal what did sell, and at what prices? I am sorry for all the ill feelings this topic has generated, but I would love to know the answer to the above questions, and if they are answered, some good will have come out of it.
