Hey All,

Yes, to make a long story short (and not quite so excruciatingly boring), say
you have a URL of www.xyz.com. That means that you're connecting to the
computer at xyz.com and then looking in the www folder. So, www.xyz.com is a
different location/folder than xyz.com. Most hosts automatically add a
redirect from one to the other, so they both lead to the same place. Other
hosts do not, so you end up with two different home pages. That's how you end
up with a site that appears offline, depending on which version you type in.
There are a few poster dealers with sites that do this. It's a simple fix. I
believe all it is is adding one line of code to your .htaccess file, telling
the server to add or remove any www's of incoming connections. Just google
'www redirect' and I'm sure the fix will come up without too much searching.
Dealers should all check your sites, as half you customers might think you're
closed.

Cheers,

Bob

That www. at the beginning seems to make a difference with this site. I have
ran across this before with other sites. Sometimes you can get away without it
such as my ilovefilms.com and other times it gives an error. I am sure it is
something in the coding but not versed enough to know why.

  I don't understand. I thought movieposterbid.com had disappeared. I go to:

  http://movieposterbid.com/

and get an "Under Construction" page. Its been that way for quite some time.
