Claude, You left out one other way to make it work. Everybody on Ebay will simply add an increment to each item they post on Ebay to make up for whatever amount they are losing on shipping. When everyone does this the buyer will have no recourse but to pay more and everyone will be happy: the seller will still get the price they want, Ebay will get their commissions and the buyer will happily pay more for each item he buys presuming they are not paying for shipping. As for the feedback nonsense ----- I can't get too hung up on it. Life is too short. I leave feedback for everyone as it's appropriate. If they leave good feedback for me, great. If not, there's nothing I can do about it, since I'm not prepared to alter the way I do business which I feel is very professional. The Ebay discounts amount to nothing anyway. FRANC

What is the point of it all? Can't you get it through your thick heads that ebay has always been arrogant and mercenary? This is the real world of ebay. Live it or leave it. Until something better comes along figure out how to make money with it or do it elsewhere. In addition, a lot of the things they are doing makes sense if you only put yourself in their shoes. They have been criticized for sellers charging excess shipping. Unscrupulous sellers charged $.99 and $25 shipping for $10 items that cost $5 to ship. This cost ebay money and criticism. Buyers complained (and rightly so) that when they left deserved negative feedback to sellers (who almost never leave feedback first) they got unfair retaliation. (I did 4 times) So, what happened? Buyers, like myself, stopped leaving negative feedback and the system became flawed. Many buyers and sellers started circumventing ebay. A seller would list an item very high. Buyers would email them and they would make an off-ebay transaction thereby cutting ebay out of their rightful commission. So, ebay made it almost impossible for these situations to happen by disguising the bidders. Has ebay done many stupid things? Absolutely, YES!!!!!!!!! However, it was the best game in town for a long time. Do you have a choice today? Of course you do. Consign or buy from Heritage or Hershenson. These are my first choices today. You can also go to some of the more well known web sites and laugh at the prices. They obviously are successful or they wouldn't list such high numbers. All the good fortune to them. I took a few days off from work this week and have enjoyed this escapade. CJL _____ Psssst...Have you heard the news?
