But seriously, I'm a little surprised that there is some interest in
Gildersleeve posters, since Gildy is not really part of our popular
culture. Other radio characters like The Shadow, Captain Midnight,
The Lone Ranger, etc., have survived to varying degrees in people's
minds, but if Tom Martin were to poll 100 random people on the
street and ask them who the Great Gildersleeve is, I think only 2
people would know the answer.
