The Lone Ranger started on radio, but he later moved to serial movies and TV, and there were also a couple feature films starring Clayton Moore.

The Shadow started as a "radio host" character for the Detective Story Hour radio show. He later moved to pulp magazines, and then he got his own dramatic series. At some point, several films were made, including at least one serial.

I believe Captain Midnight started on radio. I don't know if he was ever on TV.

I have heard about them but only watched The Lone Ranger on TV. Were they on TV or only radio? I thought I was old - I'm 57 but, I guess you all have me beat!

Roger , if you poll 100 people on the street, they won't know who the
Shadow, Lone Ranger of especially Captain Midnight is either
