Here in Australia, depending on how much tax you paid last year, you are going to get a share in an ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE (which sounds remotely like a sex aide of some kind). At top whack, it's just under AU$1k.
This is designed for you to go spend it and "stimulate" the economy. Everyone I know is going to either pay it off their credit card debt, or make a payment off their mortgage. Others, no doubt will go and rack up more debt by buying a $3k plasma TV on what we used to call the never-never and use it to put themselves in more debt. As for the Robber Barons.... these AIG and associated scumbags (and we have our own here too, including a few Americans imported at ludicrous salaries and bonuses because no one in Australia was "good enough" to screw everything up).
