I do think OT posts should be allowed on Mopo. It keeps things
interesting. If Tom Martin wants to discuss how he was attacked by
his cat, I want to read about it.
I also like the fact that Koose shared his photo. Hitherto his
posting (Andrea, is that the correct use of "hitherto"?), I did not
know what he looked like, and my mind formulated a constantly
shifting interpretation of his image, based on his ethnic background
and writings. Needless to say, my fabricated vision of Koose was
incorrect. Fortunately, I now have a proper face to go with his name.

As I stated at that time, I felt straying a bit OT was OK. We're a
small group compared to the "thousands" who register for web-based
discussion boards and we have an even smaller percentage of our
members who actually ever post anything. I consider MoPo to be more

movie memorabilia. Personally I like learning more about MoPo'ers--
and the way you do that is going OT now and then.
I know there are some on MoPo who are absolutely against uttering a
single word off-topic (you know who you are!) and you let others
know of your mission to keep MoPo OTF (off-topic-free). But while I
don't want this list to become a daily battleground on the "hot
topic du jour," I don't see the harm in an occasional OT post, as
long as the list etiquette of placing OT in the subject line is
observed. For those of you who don't have a DEL key on your
computer, please schedule a service call NOW!!
So I'll try again and ask for opinions on this issue. I'm hoping
for more than silence this time around.

Like most of you, I prefer MoPo posts to be about movies or movie
posters, but why is it such a big deal when an occasional post (or
thread) strays completely off-topic? I of course don't want non-
poster collectors to come here and start discussions of other
subjects, but I really don't mind at all when "regular" posters
make some non-movie poster related comments, and I actually have
learned quite a bit from such discussions.
Is there anyone here who prefers the endless stream of "5 hours
left on my auctions..." "Now there's only 4 hours left..." type of
e-mails to off-topic ones?
What is the big deal anyway? And why can't we all just get along?
In any event, if God didn't want off-topic e-mails, then why did he/
she make a delete key on every computer?
