Drives me nuts, too, Kenwick. I don't consider myself a hard-core video
snob, but...how can people be so brain dead? I have a pretty nice
Blu-Ray/HDTV system, which I love, and I pay extra every month for the
add-on HD channels. It drives me up the wall when certain HD channels
(like TBS HD) do the 1.66:1 stretch-out on EVERYTHING, making all the
people on the screen look like misshapen dwarfs.

Still holding out for the HDTV, Blu-Ray, etc... don't have all the
money in the world to spend on it, so I'm waiting for prices to fall
(even more than they already have) and the technology to get better,
too... AND waiting for my wallet to get fatter...
... anyway, what really kills me is when I go to a friend's house who
has it on, but they'll have a standard TV show at a ratio of 1.66:1
stretched out to 'fill' the screen, thus making everyone short-and-fat
and hard to watch... apparently they'd rather watch it that way than
the black bars along the sides in its PROPER ratio...
...ugh
