Michael - Hate to burst your bubble but those were planned ad-libs. I saw the show several times and those same "ad-libs" appeared every time.
The genius of that is he made them look fresh every night and Ann Miller played it like it was. Seriously, it takes a great talent to do it every night and make it look fresh!
