Good point Bruce. If the image has transferred to the glass it is definitely 
not a good idea trying to remove the poster.

  I have seen posters like this where entire sections of the poster had 
literally transferred to the glass, and there was no prayer of them coming off. 
You would have more luck transferring the rest of the poster to the glass 
rather than the other way around!

  If it is bad enough, just leave it like it is and display it, and know that 
in 500 years almost all of your collection will have turned to dust anyway.

          Kevin, you could try to cut away the parts of the glass that AREN'T 
stuck to the poster to make it easier to ship to your restorer.  A glass cutter 
is cheap and easy to get (just like me!) and doesn't require any particular 
genius to use.  Score, tap, and snap.  Wear gloves though (and OSHA inspectors 
would probably insist on eye protection if you're concerned about seeing your 
poster when you're done).

          Much easier to protect a small chunk of glass for shipping than a big 
one.

            ANyone know How to remove/restore a 100 year old poster  STUCK to 
the frame glass?  It is very fragile and before I send to the restoration 
company I want to remove it from the glass. ABout a 10" section has stuck to 
the glass.  Any ideas?
