Doug,

I really like you, and know you are a great guy, but I think you clearly did
not think this through when you posted it. I won't "beat a dead horse" in
going over WHY this surely wasn't shill bidding (except to add that in
auctions where they cheat you this way, they usually enter a single bid just
under what you bid).

I have known Rich from before the beginning, and I think everyone who knows
him can tell you that not only is he honest, but he is honest to a fault,
and if he says there was nothing wrong in this auction then I am 100% sure
there was nothing wrong (and of course, all the evidence 100% backs up what
he says).

One thing should be painfully obvious. Guys like Rich and me who sell tons
of stuff for a dollar or two each clearly have honest auctions just on that
fact alone. In some auctions there are next-to-no good buys (because of
secret reserves, house bidders buying items, and consignors bidding on their
own items) but that is surely not the case in Rich's auctions, or mine.

How about simply posting a short post that says that on reflection you see
you were posting out of frustration and emotion, and that you retract what
you said and that you apologize? I would think the Rich I know would be able
to completely forget about it, and we could all move on.
