Not exactly a monster but perceived as one .. that old chestnut! I find Edward Scissorhands quite beautiful and inevitably tearful. A more modern take ( but still 20 years old) on the Frankenstein story ... Other tearful endings or near the ending that haven't been mentioned (i think) include .. Farewell My Concubine Silent Running King Kong - all versions, it breaks my heart!!! Shadowlands Jean de Florette The Killing Fields Goodbye, Mr Chips The Elephant Man So many tears .... wonderful films!
