I have been purchasing a load of lobby cards lately - mostly low end. The
majority of dealers pack them in two thin pieces of cardboard sometimes with a
manila envelope, somtimes not. One dealer sends flat packages in a large Manila
envelope with no cardboard at all. Other dealers break up the free cardboard
packages that you get from USPS and cut them to lobby card size. They dont make
a very strong package. I have been very lucky lately that none of the packages
have been damaged in recent times.
Most of the dealers I have been using charge 12-15 bucks for postage from the
US to Australia. If they use more cardboard the postage goes up and noboby
buys. On eBay the more you charge for postage the less you sell.
I spent a lot of time coming up with a way of keeping my overseas rate to
US$12.00 - $12.50 but still making the packaging very strong. I invite everyone
to purchase a lobby card from me and check out the packaging!
