Thanks Phil, love hearing Kubrick stories.
If it's ground he's covered, it's probably safe to assume that it's
the best way to do something.
Put's me in the mood to re-watch the documentary "Stanley Kubrick's
Boxes" where Jon Ronson explores the archive.

Though mainly concerning the contents of the boxes, there's also the
matter of the actual boxes which were manufactured to meet Stanley's
very specific expectations of a cardboard storage box .

Use three pieces of cardboard (or 4) and make sure corrugations are

tightly so that the 3-4 pieces of cardboard basicaly become a block.
On the inside, bag the item/s, tape bag to board so they don't shift
around in transit, leaving a 1-1.5 inch gutter all round so the
buyer has some "opening space".
Around 38 years ago, I received a parcel from Stanley Kubrick's
office of some stills signed by the director, and they were packed
just liked this. I called up my contact at Hawk Films to pass on
thanks Mr K. and commented about the precise way the stills were
packed. She told me that Stanley packed all the parcels, including
mine, as he didn't trust anyone else to do it.
I've been packing flats the same way ever since.

Subject: [MOPO] OT: Cardboard advice from the pros here....
This inquiry goes out to any of the pros here who ship flat items
such as stills or lobby cards. I am wanting to keep the package
light but strong (and I should mention... as inexpensive as
possible). What strength cardboard are you using? I see sheets of
200 pound strength cardboard available but is it strong enough. The
sheets I always see are corrugated but are sheets of solid (similar
to postal boxes) available and if so, do you know where? Any advice
posted publically or privately is greatly appreciated.
