very sad. he did an excellent comic turn in the underrated Robin & The Seven Hoods and had a long, rich association with Cassavetes. but if you're going to mark his passing, I suggest one of the early Columbos that had Jack Cassidy as the guest star. The Spielberg-directed Murder By The Book (1971) or (even better) Now You See Him (1976) where Cassidy & Falk eat scenery like it's made out of milk duds. n
