What exactly does the customer support do on the pay sites if your bid doesn't go through? Do they go ahead and buy the item for you anyways? Or do they do the same thing the free sites do and say sorry about that, we'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again?
Gavelsnipe places bids from two different servers to help ensure 99.99% placement success. I have used them dozens and dozens of times on both ebay and Heritage without fail. Rich Halegua who runs a competing auction site gives similar testimony as do many others.
