William Scott is almost certainly a phony name attached to a shill
account manned by a person who has had numerous run-ins with various
people on the MoPo mailing list

I have yet to meet anyone who was not satisfied with Gavelsnipe's
service and reliability.
(I am discounting the reply from "William Scott" as his 3 total
posts to MoPo have been to say Jim Halperin is a "bad man", asking
if anyone has ever purchased from Heritage with stolen funds, and
then to say Gavelsnipe sucks. He is obviously a shill with an axe to grind.)
But back to your point, I never thought about the single user angle
as like most people I only have one ebay account, but I assume you
use a separate email for your 2nd ebay account, so it would probably
be easy to open a second Gavelsnipe account to bid with since they are Free.
Then when you click on your toolbar to set up your snipe, you just
enter whichever account information you would like to snipe from.
And don't forget, you can also snipe MoviePosterExchange auctions
with Gavelsnipe.
Perhaps someone would like to set a snipe for this very cool 2001 A
Space Odyssey poster:

I also recently started using Gavelsnipe and have been very
satisified with it. Its only drawback as far as I can tell, and it's
a minor one, is that you can only bid using a single ebay account,
whereas eSnipe (the pay sniping service I also use) allows you to
bid using different ebay accounts.

The reason I asked the question is that I recently started using
Gavelsnipe after paying another site for a number of years.
Gavelsnipe has worked very well for me and I now wonder how long the
other sites will be able last if they continue charging a fee for sniping.

What exactly does the customer support do on the pay sites if your
bid doesn't go through?
Do they go ahead and buy the item for you anyways?
Or do they do the same thing the free sites do and say sorry about
that, we'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again?
Gavelsnipe places bids from two different servers to help ensure
99.99% placement success.
I have used them dozens and dozens of times on both ebay and
Heritage without fail.
Rich Halegua who runs a competing auction site gives similar
testimony as do many others.
I can not speak of Gixen as i have never tried them, but why would
why when I have a completely free sniper that has never failed?

I have been burned in the past by free sniping websites. Their
servers are too unreliable and there's zero customer support.
Gavelsnipe and Gixen immediately come to mind. Their both free and
they both totally suck.

Use BidTamer, have paid but at the moment using the free version.
By paying fee snipe buffer can be reduced to 3 seconds, free version
is minimum of 10 seconds.
Also, with free version there's a limited number of snipes, think
it's 3 a week.

Hi to you all
There are quite a few websites around that allow you to snipe on
auctions. Some charge a fee and some don't. I used to use one that
charged but have lately switched to another site that is totally
free. Just wondering if any of you use sites that charge a fee for
sniping and, if so, do they give you anything extra that the free
sniping sites dont?
