theater in austrailia,,,greg eggbert inla... my buddy in texas , a few
la dealers...and the studios,,,i worked fora co suposedly owned part by
bob dylan that did deroit poster striping or wild posting and so i got
mostly tristar,acannon, cbs, columbia and the like....so lots of norris
one sheets and some likeironeagle...and othertitles..they would send me
100s of posters like3 400 rool boxes at a time...andi just needed to do
like10-20 visable spots...so i could get rid ofthe excess... it was a
dangerous gig as itwas detroit in rough areas..likewoodward..i also did
concer posters for pine knob shows..lieksantana, and others...the
printers where likegotham ,gore and the top printers of movie
posters..many where printed inOHIO at continental litho in clecland
andold posters many where done here liketookerand more as we had stone
litho printers...chicago and east coastalso did many...i think they did
multiple runs in otherplants toexplain preess runs.better..as many think
its bootleg whenitwas just theold school plate tergistaion was done by
colorkey targettson metal plates,,now the digital is better
reg....soalao the copies are sharper now....thatswhy printing is so
cheap as they an gang run liekvistaprint ectand do offshore printing
also...the weight is still a issue...sa me with books and all...weight
...the standard now is coated enamel stock paper butsome get varnish
like a remeber the spawn was coated whith a clearcoat..a friend does it
on boak covers and looks great super glossy,,but i always liked veryflat
old poster inks onstone litho best..as theink pops..and so did the
art...all posters are just a cool, art formand theartwork on monster
model boxes was also cool.on aurora.kits,,,
If you love poster art the magazine art of 20,30 40 is just out ofthe
world good,,thepainters likeJc leyandecker, and thechesecal giutys and
movie magazine artist likechristy, and othersand the ones that did
fortune and collliers, sate st, womans mags..and others just knowck the
socks off...same withtinlithotous,,and robots...amd space
toys...wow.....popculture of baby boomers was a great period... but now
we are all almost 70s and 80s.....so now what??? pass them on to the
kids i say and keep the memories going...otherwise they end up like
taiders ofthelostark.....

dontcare abutbogi, gable and all..soa few marilyns is about itand
monster stuff andforawhielscarface was hot but that all gone..
so just the auction people seem to do ok on hot old posters...since in
ever sold 100k posters i never knew those buyers..i sold to
everybody..
papercatalogs where costlyand got utdated fastand the supliers could
be sold out so unless you could afford mass quatities it was a waste
of time to inventory most posters..and havediversity and wheninternet
stared everyone had same titles....so they where not hard to get and
thepacking costs heep going up...so many postersupliere did affiliate
programs and so the same posterwas being offered by10 vendors butmost
didnteven stock it so it was anyone guess iftwould ship..
to see whos in buiness i suggest get classic images ,,bob kingwill
send youa free copie ifycal oremal...good publicationand most dealers
on mop and ebay are inthere.. as the small dealers like me...im on
thenet and ebay however i have been ill for sevela years ao unless
someone calls me oremails me i just list on ebay or tell people,,ive
ben in busines sice 1977 and still have stuff from when i started...
but its all over the place and i sell all kinds of stuf like books and
things so how we did itback in0s and 80sis a person would ask waht do
you have on....and then came or title andi would say i havethis
ormakea package dealast f stuff..i have many things yjay mpoperes ask
for but i have tolocate beforeillacept theorder as sometimes i
remebersomethingisold already on onesies...or sometimes itmayhavewear

77 most posters costus 2.99-6.00 then went to6-10 and then episode 1s
were the 1st that came out wholesale as 100.00 and discusted me as
they could have made more...the late 80s was when repos came out
butalso there was many fins inlots as nationscreen service closed
down..butmanypeople like me and others stocked up on good title like
movie gallery in east meadow new york and others...there were a few la
dealers that stocked up..were all getting old now some in 70s...so
thats another reason im 61 and was like 20 when i started in this
crazy biz..
buyere interest have changed....because ofage...the access is easy to
see and thegraphics have stopped beong like the painters of the pre
90s..so there are great artists still but far and few..imho

havethe same type stuffi always sold..and whats funny is many
collectors are getting rid of collections the problem is findinganyone
that wants it...at least fr me....so i always say buywhat you like
anyway incas you getstuckwith it....as you wont be to bummed out as i
like it anyway..i justdontneed 10 duplicates of things..i always liked
a little wear as it looked more authentic and worn and i liked it some
people pay extra to get guitars reliced,,go figure

I do remember ordering a few MPs from a printed catalog (text only)
from a mail-order MP store in Michigan (or Minneapolis). I long ago
lost these posters. I don't remember how I found the store. I've
forgotten the name of the vendor now but it was still in operation
4-5
years ago.
What pre-internet MP mail-order stores did you buy from, how did you
become aware of them, and are they still in operation?
