Actually Evan, be sure to bid more than $8,000,000 to save even more. Just
think, if you bid more than that, there's only a 15% buyers premium!

Best,
Todd

From "CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS FOR BUYERS"

Buyer’s Premium: the commission the Buyer must pay to us as part of the
Purchase Price for auction Lots. The Buyer’s Premium rate is subject to change
at any time. Effective as of February 17, 2025, Buyer’s Premium rate for all
auctions except Wine and Spirits is 27% of the Hammer Price for a Hammer Price
up to and including $1,000,000, 22% of any amount of the Hammer Price in excess
of $1,000,000 and up to and including $8,000,000, and 15% of any amount of the
Hammer Price in excess of $8,000,000. For Wine and Spirits Lots, the Buyer’s
Premium rate is 24% of the Hammer Price for all Lots. Buyer’s Premium is
subject to any applicable VAT and/or sales or use tax.

So, be sure to bid more than $1,000,000 to save some money!

And to think we used to just complain when eBay raised their fees!

Up until very recently, it was 20% but I believe it's now 27%.

It should be on the website.

By the way, I haven't had a chance to address Helmut's MoPo message yet, but if
anyone wants me to pick up an item they've won, I would happily do that and
ship it to them in order to save a lot of money.

I am curious, does anyone know the buyers premium on this sale?

Tommy,

everybody requires sign-in for post-auction details. Requiring a sign-in for
condiition information on an open lot is something else entirely. My guess is
they are simply too lazy to write a condition report and only do so upon
request.

My past experiences with both Christies and Sotheby were usually dominated by
brutal overgrading, abysmal customer service, lost lots (don't expect as much
as an apology from these guys!) and ridiculous shipping costs.

It was fine when I was still traveling, could inspect the lots in person in
their preview and pay up and collect my wins after the auction. I looked over
the lots out of curiosity, but I have no intention of bidding in this auction
or any of their other sales.

They have always required signing in for info such as past auction prices, etc.

I just noticed that you have to sign up with them to see a condition report.
Interesting tactics, that is.
