Greetings all/Marsha

   I know I haven't posted anything in a long time. I travel a lot and it's
hard for me
to follow the threads consistently and to sustain a long dialog. So, rather
than
think of me as the weirdo lurker - perhaps I'm just the girl at the party
that wanders
around from room to room in the background but never really says much of
anything.
I do enjoy subscribing ti this group though and reading all of your posts as
I have time.

I especially tune into Marsha's posts about painting since I'm also an
artist.

I've been sort of traumatized by this news that you destroyed your journals.
Traumatized and
impressed. I have occasionally gone through and destroyed some things that I
just find hideous, but never entire journals.

I understand the idea of the ritual and moving on though. I'm sure I may
have asked you about this before, so I'm sorry I don't remember. Do you have
any children? Would that
make any difference - i.e. were there things in your journal you wouldn't
want them to see? Or would you want them to be able to read your journals
later?

I don't have any children and so it's an even more compelling reason to do
what you just did...I find with every new piece, I'm just adding more and
more 'stuff' to the world - but I find it so difficult to wrap my mind
around the 'art' of being able to destroy something you've created.
Ultimately, I think it's a beautiful thing to be able to do this and feel
cleansed by it.

As for giving your work away. I would be honored to have one of your works,
Marsha. If you really are considering giving them away OR even if you do
change your mind about selling your work for $$ - perhaps you would
consider sending me one? I'll pay
for the shipping.

I've read about you and your paintings in these posts for several years now
and I feel like I have gotten to know at least one side of you (the side
that posts to the group) in a personal way and even though I don't
contribute hardly at all, I would still be thrilled if you would consider
this - OR I could always find your local Goodwill and pick one up there?

Margaret
