I'd be sceptical as to the significance of the specific mythology and metaphors - but open to clarification - but I'd be downright cynical at the idea of quoting a calendar date like that in an argument about the cyclical nature of time ?!? But anyway ...
Whilst some are fixated on some search for essential material aspects of reality, I have to say that the nature of time and causation (and purpose) are the seriously mysterious and interesting aspects of reality. Even physicists struggle to find anything "material" these days amongst time and the processes at work. Time will tell, as you say. Time is telling.
