"Intellectually overcomes" means "overcomes by rational
arguments"? If so I agree. SOM was rationality's emergence in
the form of Truth vs Opinion.This original manifestation evolved
via various stages to the final S/O form. Thus after Reason
became the premises (the base you don't question) all efforts to
dislodge it must use rational arguments.
And you are right, MOQ's dynamic/static premises does away
with the paradoxes generated by SOM's S/O premises. But this
more than ever affirm the Subject/Object interpretation of
intellect. Pirsig's effort to explain away the paradoxes (platypi
called) based on his inorg.+org=matter/society+intell.=mind is
cumbersome and solves nothing, while the SOL performs the
same trick that Newton Physics did with the paradoxes of Greek
Physics, they went poof!

The mind-matter paradoxes seem to exist because the
connecting links between these two levels of value
patterns have been disregarded. Two terms are missing:
biology and society. Mental patterns do not originate out
of inorganic nature. They originate out of society, which
originates out of biology which originates out of inorganic
nature.
Here the 4th level's patterns has become "mental patterns". They
don't originate out of matter as in SOM he says - which is correct
- but out of society which originate out of biology... etc. But does
this explain how - what SOM calls a "thought" - can move what it
calls "matter" (a finger)? The problem is merely moved to the
social/biological "gap".
In the SOL intellect is the very mind/matter distinction and its
paradoxes (as SOM) dissolves as SOM is degraded to the mere
4th level and the S/O schism is replaced by the DQ/SQ one. The
said paradoxes only arrived with the 4th. level (falsely posing as
"how things really are") the social level has none, Achilles and
Moses acted quite unconcerned of it requiring a preceding mental
stage. Even more so on the biological level where organisms
moves about intuitively.
Fact is that all static levels have their own paradoxes if examined
thoroughly, societys dissolves into biological entities - for
instance beehives and anthills. Biological organisms dissolves
into inorganic units, a virus is neither dead nor alive. And matter's
demise in the light of Quantum Physics is well known, it dissolves
into god knows what. All due to their being static, only
Dynamic/Static is real.
