interesting - it seems like there are more people on the group who have leading left-eyes.
I'm a leading right-eye and leading right hand. I do computer science and business (left hemisphere) but also drawing, art and photography - visual stuff - which is much more right-hemisphere. Friends have described me as unusual in how they perceive me as sort of equally left/right hemisphere balanced But there are some activities I'm not good at - like reproducing music/playing an instrument (ok at reading music - not playing by ear) or learning how to speak a foreign language (I have to see it written down - hearing a phrase, remembering it and trying to use it even 15 minutes later - I'm useless. Also, acting - remembering spoken lines. The right-hemisphere thing aural skills have always been difficult to me. I'm curious how these skills are in those of you who have said you are left-eye/right dominant. Curiously, my left eye was damaged (probably by staring at an eclipse too long when I was a kid - that's what the eye specialist says) - I can see out of it, but it's definitely detioriating (slowly) so the vision is just very bad out of this eye. The doc says the retinal cells are literally flaking off. It's not the same as macular degeneration and until they know how to do retinal cell transplants (maybe another 5 - 10 years) - nothing can be done - except take lots of vitamins (like beta carotene - which I do - to prevent further damage) - it's not like I'm blind or anything, but I am sure that my right eye has gotten much stronger to compensate and of course I shoot photographs (and lots of them) with my right eye. I do consciously try to do things to strenghthen both hemispheres. Ever tried 'cranium' (the game for the whole brain) My friends and I get together and play this all the time!
