[Arlo previously] I guess it means just what it says. "Original thoughts" do not pop out of the brain of some Miraculous Lone Individual, but emerge only from individuals-in-social-activity. Moreso, the "individual" is herself a confluence between an assimilated shared dialogue and the unique experience of her as a bounded organism. Even moreso still, of course, we must remember that the "self" (if this is what you mean by "individual") is an idea, or rather a collection of ideas.
[Platt] So is that a Yes or a No or a Maybe? [Arlo] In the context of my answer, yes, of course. In the context of the "Lone Isolated Individual", the answer is no.
