[khaled] the point I was trying to make is that you are made to pay twice for the same product. Or buy what is not needed. Look how much gets spent on bottled water, or how we have been trained to pay for 'convenience' Look at the frozen isle in the supermarket, corn, peas and spinach are about all you can find. Every thing else is sold already smothered with its own sauce. For a premium. My point is that we are set in motion on this merrygoround, and told to chase a dream. [Krimel] I think I got your point. I found Carlin's observations quite on target as well. It is like we think we are "free" but then we "do" pretty much as we are told. I have been on a health kick for the past year or so. Try finding a beverage that does not have carbonation in it or is unsweetened. Try to find a 'snack' without sugar or carbohydrates. There are an increasing number of restaurants with some fairly healthy menu options but not as many as you would think. Bottled water... don't get me started. It used to be that restaurants wouldn't even think of selling coffee. Refusing to give a thirsty stranger water should be the height of incivility. But designer water? Flavored water? Seriously, WTF is going on. I pray they never get around to bottling air. Yes, that dream we are chasing; the American Dream the one Carlin says you'd have to be asleep to believe...
