Marsha,
I guess all's I'm sayin' is, with paradox, the
seemingly opposite conundrums, the disagreements,
polar opposites, and the paralyized perception, etc...
are held together by compassion. If not these
disagreements would tear this reality apart into atom
bombs (splitting the atom for destruction), arguing,
living together in seemingly contrast (instead of
killing a culture because they talk and dress
differently than yours), etc..., etc..., all the way
down into the push to separate a subject from an
object, this drive to push them apart is destructive
if the underlying force that holds them together isn't
understood. For this force, I've choosen at the
moment to call it compassion for compassion reaches
across all boundaries of difference. The outcome of
compassions reaching across is help, and to release
suffering, but for the moment, I'm not talking about
this outcome of compassion, not the intent of
compassion, which both the outcome and intent of
compassion is help. I'm referring to compassions
ability to reach across all boundaries set up by
paradox. And thus, to refer now to what I was
discussing with Platt and Ian within this context,
paradox is not Truth for once paradox is understood
much more goes into how paradox will be handled both
philosophically (intellectually) and pragmatically
(the doings in our lives). Will one treat paradox
with confusion, keep its' oppositional nature intact
for further separation or will paradox be treated with
compassion? This may not be the only question, but it
is a moral one.
SA
P.S. Did you want other people to say where they
were?
