[Joe] > In the history of thought a theory of knowledge precedes metaphysics. [DM] > Does not every theory of knowledge assume a metaphysics > whereby it can make any judgements?
Here is the dilemma: On the one hand, nothing is real unless it can be known/experienced. So theory of knowledge precedes metaphysics. But on the other hand, we cannot know/experience anything that we don't know is possibly real. So metaphysics must precede a theory of knowledge. Might it be that our theory of knowledge & our metaphysics must emerge together?
