No, it's a retelling of my reaction. I almost replied to your post, "That was a very pithy remark." I even looked it up in the dictionary to make sure I understood it correctly.

I was being a little sarcastic, blame it on caffeine deficiency (of which I will seek remedy pronto). When I said, "pithy ideological slurs" I was trying to use the word "pithy" to indicate that the slurs, although concise, carried a great deal of ideological meaning. They say a lot about the speaker and audience, despite being 10-second soundbites. Perhaps "furtive" or "sly" would have been a better word choice.

At any rate, I took this as what you meant in reply, namely that my concise remark was telling about sly assumptions on my part. I only meant in response that any remark could be so accused. The difference is in the dialogue (or lack thereof) that follows.
