Marsha:
Mostly I still listen to C-SPAN's Washington Journal from
7:00-10:00. People who call in are really, really, really
angry. You are not alone.
woods:
Your not kidding. I watched some of the Washington Journal
during the bailout process and every once and awhile since then, and
people are still angry and fired up.
Marsha:
My Representative was overheard stating
that calls coming into his office ran 90 to 1 against the
bailout. He voted to pass it. People are very angry. I'm not so
sure how scared they are. Is there a tipping-point nearby, or a lot
of baaa'ing. I don't know. I'm just telling you you are not alone
in your distrust.
woods:
Yeah, this U.S. gov't has cultivated distrust over the generations, but
Bush I think has outdone them all five times over. I've said this here before
but I always thought of presidents as doing politics and sure we'll disagree
with them. But Bush, he's just dangerous and heartless on a scale that
is beyond merely disagreein' with the guy. Here just sticks it to people. On
the dictatorship powers he gave himself, why couldn't the President's Office
just
go and comment on it. Ease people's fears. Gain their trust. But no. He
just does what he wants and thinks he knows it all and everybody else is
just dumb and worthless. Not even to comment. That's too far.
I'm glad I'm not alone in this. Thanks.
Marsha:
I think one could easily post now in reaction to the fear that is
being generated in the media. And maybe that's what they want. Like
having you imagine a mushroom cloud. It's probably not a good time to
overdo it. (I may at times get carried away.) It's too easy to
scare oneself. And I would imagine now is the time to stay calm. Or
better yet find some humor in the situation.
woods:
Your right. The media is generating a fear too. They aren't looking into
the justice and laws of what happened. I'm hearing they broke all kinds of
laws
from experts in business. This non-transparent action into the law-breaking
further flames the fire of mistrust.
Marsha:
For humor try: http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/
I'm not advising you to post, or not post.
woods:
I know. Your helping me calm my fears. I watch the Daily Show
and the Colbert Report online and on TV often with my wife.
I know your helping me understand we are in this together. I
appreciate this. I'm still thinking about the lose/lose proposition.
That's very profound!!!!
