There is more stretch and flexibility to US constitution (in the
sense of make up, as opposed to Document) than that.  We
have a considerable capacity to keep about our business, despite
the media impulse at extreme voyeurism.  The crises about which
we hear and are bombarded by the media are largely irrelevant
to most people's lives.  Many of your Blackwater boogie men are
roleplaying JACK BAUER in thier heads--they think they're heroes
working for the good of the country.

While we are all aware of the struggle between social and
intellectual levels, I don't think they are ALWAYS at war in ALL respects.
(e.g. There was, if we look at it, considerable unity in WWII in the
service of defeat of the Nazi.)  We have maybe a little too much
tolerance for excesses done in the name of the "right" reason.

I agree with you that we should keep a sharp eye on what passes
around us, but I do not think we are so delicate as to be a tinderbox.
IMO...  Awareness of MoQ may make us more sensitive to things
that pass unnoticed to others.
