Even my 6 year-old had a mock election in her classroom. We are hopeful.
And I was looking at the results by state and by county http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/04/president-obama-results-s_n_1412 00.html and it becomes apparent that the divisions is more of a cultural one than a political one. The larger urban centers, went for obama while more rural areas went republican, Even in states that show all red. There are some exceptions of course. The difference was 7,093,338 popular votes, so far which means that is mccain was able to get 3,546,669 plus one vote he would have won. I was looking back at all the democratic candidates that started the race, and ask myself who might have beaten mccain? I don't think any body would have. A few thoughts with my morning coffee.
