[Mel] We miss most of Cetation reality. [Arlo] Great post, can't think of a single disagreement I'd have with it.
To expand a bit, this notion of experiential reality ties directly into the "boundedness" I speak of regarding the shape our responses to DQ may take. Our biological boundedness, and the whale's, both affords and constrains this repertoire of activity. Within social theory, Giddens has fashioned the dual enable-constrain (in Gidden's theory its agency-structure) tension of these contexts as "structuration", but I think the general metaphor applies to all the MOQ's levels. "Agency" is made possible the very structure that, in turn, constrains the range of activity it bestows.
