[Ham] For a nation to survive and prosper, it is essential that its founding values, language, social mores, and cultural heritage be preserved against foreign influences that would denigrate its sovereignity.
[Arlo] Can you give me examples of "social mores, and cultural heritage" that are "American" and those that are "foreign" and would "degenerate [our] sovereignty? Regarding language, no less a figure than Benjamin Franklin warned against the inferior German people and their vile tongue that would signal the quick death of our newly found land (perhaps another reason why Native Americans had their tongues cut out if they dared to speak their own language). [Ham] Rather, it's the idea that the values and traditions of our nation's history are indigenous to our culture... [Arlo] Really? And you find this to be homogeneous? Would you say the traditions "indigenous" to my culture (Arlo) are the same as those of an Sioux living in Montana? A Cajun living upriver in Louisiana? A black farmer in Appalachia? If so, can you give me a list of some "values and traditions" that you feel are common to all "Americans", and what you'd do about the ones that are not? [Ham] and deviating from them in deference to egalitarian, globalist or multicultural ideologies can only weaken and demean the principles this nation stands for. [Arlo] Actually, these are the values our nation stands for, and so this actually strengthens our nation if you see it this way.
