Platt,
Wow! was not expecting THAT. I 'm afraid you took my analogy too literally.

>Do you consider the dangers and warnings of cigarette smoke a scam?
>-Ron

Platt:
I have no problem with warnings about the dangers of taking drugs of any
kind. However, I do object to being forced to enable stupid, self-
destructive behavior by paying for the health costs of individuals whose
subsequent illnesses are attributable to their drug habits.

Ron:
But what if those drugs were marketed and sold as non-harmful.
what if the free market told you that any harmful effects of drugs
was a scam. What if they marketed drugs as what gives social
status and comfort. Drugs are your right to enjoy and use as you see fit.

You would'nt see that as peddling poison under the pretense of lies
for profit?

You woul'nt find them responsible for the deaths and poor health?

I'm not saying joe tax payer, the corporations involved. Would'nt you think
they are liable for the health of their consumers due to the use of their
product marketed to them as unharmful?

Should'nt the free market industry likewise be held responsible ?
sure it cuts into profits but the maintenace of both your consumer
and your resources should be your primary concern if it wants to keep
producing profit. depleating both sources is suicide, how does one
enjoy their profit when eveything is destroyed and everyone is dead?
every parasite knows that to exploit a host it must maintain it's safety
and health. The best parasites being symbiotic.

I'm in favor of legalizing drugs. i.e., a free market..

I have no problem with warnings about the dangers of taking drugs of any
kind. However, I do object to being forced to enable stupid, self-
