Pirsig's most telling statement is "All this is just an analogy." Also pay
attention to his modifier of "divine", namely "indeterminant divine". Anyone
who understood the "Zen" aspect of Pirsig's view would not be trying to turn
that phrase into a apologist remark for theism. What the
Qualigodists are doing
here lately is kinda sad, and I wonder what Pirsig thinks when he sees people
trying to turn Quality into just another word for "God".
