We all remember that Pirsig, following Aristotle, said that "first philosophy" 
is called "metaphysics."  We should bear in mind that Aristotle's redactor is 
the one that named that collection of manuscripts "Metaphysics."  What did 
Aristotle actually call "first philosophy" in the Metaphysics?

Theology.

Right on the money Matt, the biggest mistake is to project Quality as a 
Teleological
arguement. This however does not mean that MoQ takes a methodologicaly 
naturalistic stance.
Some may say that theological inquiry seeks to reconcile faith with reason but 
even before
this, as Aristotle suggests, is the reconciling of the phenomena of "be-ing".
Even more curious is how this abstraction of selfhood, the "I" is of particular
fascination for the Indo-european languages.
