It is not a failure of scientists that politicians, economists and
capitalists use and exploit the fruits a science. You are just emphasizing
the point I already made.

Science is not an independent entity. Who does science for its own
sake these days? Are you a gentlemen scientist? I don't think
so. The underpinnings of science are corporate, economic, and
political, all driven by the profit margin. Of course you might add
hubris to the list of supports.
