awareness of God has been ignored and almost lost. You can, though, see

I have said many times god does not exist for me and does not not
exist for me. The concept has no meaning, so I do not know what you
are talking about.
Please understand I do not deny the experience of DQ that "stops you in
your tracks.".
I never said anything like "stops you in your tracks."
It's just not something I experience every day.
Nor am I aware of such experiences everyday.
Nor do I
deny a mystic experience of a transcendent reality, nor any experience that
profoundly affects someone, whether it's claimed to have come from God or
not.
Again that word 'god'? I've dropped it from my understanding of
meaningful concepts.
While Pirsig is a devout atheist, let us not forget his observation
that: "The Metaphysics of Quality identifies religious mysticism with
Dynamic Quality."
Religious mysticism may be an experience of DQ, that doesn't mean
that DQ is a religious experience.
