Excellent observation. There are other considerations, too.
No matter how you slice it PC is censorship, an assault on free speech, the
most precious of all individual rights protected by the U.S. Constitution.
To be punished for what you say, or even what you are imputed to think,
either by the force of law (hate speech) or institutional pressure
(sensitivity training) constitutes a frightening erosion of free speech
rights.
Far from being a sign of growth or progress, PC reverts to the ancient
practice of taboos originally enacted so as not to offend the gods. In the
modern version the gods are self-righteous do-gooders.
Justice Potter focused on the basic problem: "Censorship reflects society's
lack of confidence in itself. It is a hallmark of an authoritarian regime."
That's what makes PC a cause for concern and a reason for pushing back--in
addition to your MOQ insight..

I thought I'd share my own definition of PC as immorality in light of the
MoQ, since I haven't heard it before...
It's simple really. "Correctness" has to do with the Truth - which is
intellectual. "Political" has to do with society and thus is of a lower
level. Lower levels dominating higher is immoral - like Socrates being
forced to drink the poison because of political considerations.
