I thought I'd share my own definition of PC as immorality in light of the MoQ, since I haven't heard it before...

What the MOQ says is this.

"It is immoral to speak against a people because of the color of their skin, or any other genetic characteristic because these are not changeable and don't matter anyway. But it is not immoral to speak against a person because of his cultural characteristics if those cultural characteristics are immoral. These are changeable and they do matter." (LILA)

Let's consider then the use of the word "nigger", and how this passage would answer to that. "Nigger" is a slur word who's use denotes the supposed inferiority of a particular race based on the color of their skin. It harkens back to when our country considered blacks inferior enough to warrant only the label "property". IMO, the MOQ would see the use of the word "nigger" as a form of evil. No?

Now, the MOQ also says that intellectual quality supercedes social beliefs. If you can PROVE intellectually that a certain group's characteristics are superior, and demonstrate an argument as to why this is, how it is, etc. then your argument should be heard and not censored. But, as with all arguments, you better be ready with evidence and reasoned justification to support your claims. Simply saying its condonable to say "blacks are subhuman animals" doesn't cut the mustard for the MOQ to sanction it as a form of "intellectual quality".

BTW, I've actually seen some studies that look at whether or not "racists" are themselves genetically inferior (via lacking a certain gene or something, I forget) to non-racists. They argument they make is that "racism" is a form of genetic mental deficiency, in the same way "sociopaths" have been linked to certain genetic deficiencies or mutations in brain chemistry.

"Correctness" has to do with the Truth - which is intellectual. "Political" has to do with society and thus is of a lower level.

Aye, this is why the rabid and venomous PC attacks on the Dixie Chicks and Bill Maher, the demonizing of those who support Obama as socialists and tyrants, not to mention the rebranding of "torture" as "interrogation techniques", or even the wording of the term "Patriot Act" stand as strong examples of the evil face of PC.

However, in light of your analysis here, how would you characterize the "PC" campaign in schools to provide "sensitivity training" to kids about their associations with the mentally-handicapped? Is it a form of evil, in your opinion, to teach kids not to call these other children "retards", or to treat them with respect and compassion? Is it a form of "evil" to punish a kid for calling one of these children a "retard"?
