Nick:
Reagan was big government. He cut taxes but increased spending. The
conservative movement never became conservative while they were in the
White House. It's a principled problem. They cave in. The left has it's
good side. It is huge on freedom of the press, speech, and liberty (innocent
until
proven guilty) violations. Yet the left is unprincipled too and usually makes
compromises as well. It's the arbitrariness that needs to go. 99.9% of
politicians
are unprincipled. Bush was a so called conservative too and increased the size
of
the government as well. This is why conservatives are trying to find an
identity
with themselves now. They haven't followed through on their values yet when it
comes to shrinking the government. There is a lot of sitting in the confession
booth
that needs to happen in all political parties.
Governor of Texas is pandering to voters. Never brought up much of what he's
saying now until his election got in trouble. He's been in office for a while
now
and turned a new leaf when his election was in trouble. He doesn't look to
be a very principled person. Somebody that is strongly principled would only
turn any tide in D.C. D.C. is too strong for arbitrary politicans that look at
the
election numbers. Need somebody that is virtuous and stands for what is right
in the eyes of liberty. That's the extent of their self-interest, that's all
it ought
to be. Politicans, if they are to be virtuous, need to think of something more
than
their person.
