Andre, Thank you for the kind welcome! Please bear with me, as I'm feeling under the weather, and my brain is not up to its usual (questionable) intellectual standards.
I assume you're speaking tongue-in-cheek here, but I really like your outlined marriage course. I would just cut it off at the part where you actually follow them into the marriage - especially the CCTV thing - a bit too "big brother". [Andre] Lu, my question is: what do you want? Do you want certainty of Quality? You will certainly get that as it can go anywhere. Do you want quality certainty? I.e: perfect marriage, perfect kids, perfect world etc etc?...as I used to say to my Chinese students: 'If you do not want to take any risks, if you want certainty...stay in bed'. My point, or the focus of my diatribe: if the government is going to get into the job of legislating marriage, then it should focus it's efforts on what marriage ought to be, as an institution. But here again I find myself in a trap - in no way am I saying that I want any government in my bedroom! I don't want the government legislating marriage. What I would like is for society as a whole to adopt a healthier, Quality view of what any marriage should be, and for individuals to advocate for that, and then the government would simply recognize society's agreed upon criteria for marriage, and anyone who qualified could be married. Driving through rural Northern California this weekend I passed "DQ University". Seems that it's some sort of a Native American school that didn't quite succeed in it's goals. But it got me thinking - wouldn't it be great to have a University of Dynamic Quality - always changing to teach the best in ideas. That is where you could institute this marriage course, and re-teach people how to think - not "How To Think", but how to "Think". Phew, I'm all dizzy now from the exertion of trying to put words together in an order that intellectuals can understand - I'm going back to bed (well you said that's how I can have certainty, didn't you?).
