Mark, I think the most nonsensically used semantics in the english language is "only". Like when people say "Reality is only in your head."
The implication of "only" is that its unimportant or irrelevant. Your use of the pejorative only in "Quality is only an experience" illustrates this nicely. The best I can come up with is "Worship is the derivation of Values" That is, if I worship "Baal" then I get my values from Baal. If I worship Allah, then I derive my values from the teaching of Allah. However, the Allah that can be named is not the real Allah, so worship always evolves into idolatry. > > A definition is an experience! True! A certain kind of experience. > Where do you draw the line at what is > experience and what isn't? Ok, I'm thinking. I don't know. That's like asking where I draw the line at "everything". What is part of everything and what is not? That's a tough line to draw, since I create out of nothingness these concepts which have an inherent "somethingness" simply by the fact of their mentation. experience = reality > Reading these posts is an experience. > When I think of the definition of water, that is an experience. > Show me some definition that is not an experience. > NO! I absolutely Agree. Quality is defined only in experience. That's my point. (note, my only isn't a pejorative only, it's only exclusionary ) > Dividing reality up into definitions and experience > is pure nonsense and doesn't lead anywhere.
